Jitka Pokorná a Jan Drahokoupil
Elegance, airy, power, space… all impressive and charming. If we manage these qualities in our body, then we can feel how many chainless live is hiding in beauty of baroque dance movement. In the time of the Louis XIV the man as well as the king was passionate dancers, the principles of dance are in many ways penetrating with baroque fencing. Let’s go through dancing and fencing towards quality and prettiness of movement, features of these fine arts.
Methodical warming, playful exercises, pure walk enable us to feel the body
of baroque dancer. We look inside also to choreography records of 17th and 18th
century, so-called Beauchamp-Feuillet notation; however a systematic learning of
choreography is not our goal.
Previous dancing experiences are advantage.
