Dream Hunters

Javornice – Přím, Orlice Mountains

17 – 24 August 2019

Movement creation in space and in the landscape, in the woods, in the meadows, between the earth and the vast sky, away from the city noise. The process of improvisation, in which the body with open senses and deep concentration enters invisible images and stories. Stories captured in subtle signals from space, entering into them and letting them come to life. Intensive work develops the power of imagination, the ability of awake dreaming through the body.

We will search for the relationship of body and place. Watch how space communicates with us, what signs it gives us, where it draws our imagination and what forces lead our movement. Becoming an equal partner to the environment in which the body finds itself means not losing the power of expression and not degrading the place to a mindless backdrop. Recognize where the space will support us and where we can support it. Experiencing and seeing images in space, bringing tensions into it and filling it with the invisible. Entering invisible stories, tracing the context. To have the stamina and awake senses to be able to follow the track that leads on and on.

Everyday practice includes thorough physical and mental training. We want to have body and mind ready to follow the image, mood, dream. Train to the full to wake up so that each of our cells comes to life, so that each of our parts is active. We need a body which is agile, open and receptive, ready to let the decisions travel through the nerve paths quick and bright as light. A body able to maintain a connection with space, use its physical properties, and sense its signals. Observe the transformation through motion.

Part of the work in the neutral space – in the hall will develop movement and physical skills, embodiement of images and qualities, as well as connection with the partner and the ability to communicate dynamically in contact. In the second part, we will go to different places in the landscape where we will listen, wait, stay, tune in, get to know their dynamics and character both from the inside and outside.

We will be accompanied by the sounds and musical improvisations of Michal Turek, but also by the silence and sounds around us and in us.

Zita Pavlištová

In her work she integrates the technique of contemporary dance and contact improvisation. She passes on the art of movement whose foundation is listening to the body. She is looking for boundaries and loves extremes. She is exploring the body in movement and its connection with the mind. She loves long, serene, conscious observing if the inner movement same as speed, loss of control and risks – situations in which it is necessary to give body an unconditional trust.

Michal Turek

He improvises on cello and guitar. He possesses a wide range of positions and faces, moves within them fluently and suddenly. He surprises, transforms, explores. He feel the rhythm which comes from who knows where. He takes a journey of intuition, casting his voice and does not take over the words. He opens you to the music and entices you to play.
