Dynamic Softness in Contact Improvisation

29 February – 1 March 2020

Žíl in Orlice Mountains

In this workshop we will vigorously deepen our delight in contact improvisation and we will widen the range of our possibilities in dance. We will become living modelling clay which is able to adapt to partner’s ceaselessly changing shape of the body; perfectly naturally and smoothly.

We will widen the area and increase the amount of points through which we communicate with a partner and we will thus gain ability to shift our weight as smoothly as if we were a single being. Spreading wider in the space we will learn to keep number of potential ways which we can take in every single moment. For others we will become a partner with whome the dance is a wildly flowing movement game, experience of excitement and also understanding.

Joe Stoller (USA)
